    A gorgeous meadow enhancement project on the river about five miles upstream of Yachats takes place July 19-20; call Dan Straight, 541-999-9222.

    The Youth Shotgun Clinic, a free event, including use of shotguns, ammo and targets, is July 26; call Dick Wasson, 541-996-9984. Every youth goes home with a raffle prize. There will NOT be an adult sporting clays shoot this year.

    Update: Our fourth annual picnic will be at Bushmen Archers in St. Helens on July 26. The chapter donated $250 to high school senior Brandon Hafflich for his senior project, building a motorized moving archery target. We donated $1,000 to the Wolf Symposium in June, and donated two OHA memberships to the RMEF banquet in May.

    Update: Our chapter family campout at Sugar Pine Organizational Campground on Howard Prairie Lake will be Aug. 8-10 this year. 

    Our 2014 Wood Duck Nest Box Project was the largest for our chapter to date, with 101 boxes built and installed. We had a work party piling brush at Kerby Mainline with BLM and ODFW on May 31, with a barbecue lunch provided by our chapter.

    Update: The chapter voted to keep our local gate program in place, with evaluations after five years. The purpose is to reduce hunting pressure on newly logged or fragile areas on ODF lands in Tillamook. The highlight of our February meeting was four youth members sharing stories of their successful fall hunts. We hope to make this an annual event.
